What Is an All-Cotton Glass Microbead Weighted Blanket?
An all-cotton glass microbead weighted blanket is a weighted sleep layer engineered with 100% cotton on every surface — outer shell and inner liner — with no polyester in any layer. The fill is ultra-fine glass microbeads, distributed evenly across a quilted pocket grid. The shell is dyed with natural indigo plant dye. The full construction is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified (23.HUS.50992 Hohenstein), meaning all materials — cotton shell, cotton liner, and glass microbeads — have been independently tested and verified free of harmful substances.
What Problem Does It Solve?
Most cotton-marketed weighted blankets use cotton only on the outer shell. The inner liner — which contacts the fill and creates the sleeping surface — is polyester. This synthetic liner compromises breathability and creates heat retention in weighted sleep. The all-cotton construction solves this by using 100% cotton on both the outer shell and the inner liner, with no polyester anywhere in the construction.
