What Is a 7-Layer Non-Toxic Glass Bead High-Density Quilted Pet Weighted Blanket?
This pet weighted blanket was developed to address a gap in pet anxiety management: dogs with anxiety from thunderstorms, fireworks, separation, and travel had no passive calming solution that worked without owner intervention. ThunderShirts require the owner to apply them. Pharmaceuticals require prescriptions. Standard pet blankets have no weight. This construction provides Deep Pressure Stimulation passively — the dog accesses the calming effect independently by resting under the blanket, at any time, in any location.
The 7-layer construction distributes the 3.17 lb weight evenly across the full 36×48 inch surface, conforming to the three-dimensional shape of the dog body for even DPS. The non-toxic glass bead fill is secured by high-density quilting that prevents bead migration between sections and eliminates leakage through seam intersections. The quilted top layer provides a structured, soft surface for the pet.

It works via Deep Pressure Stimulation (DPS). Even, steady pressure activates the body’s pressure‑sensing receptors, lowering stress hormone cortisol and increasing serotonin and melatonin for natural relaxation. Our 7‑layer design delivers evenly distributed weight. Simply lay the blanket in your dog’s resting spot; your pet gets calming benefits whenever they lie on it, no extra handling needed.
Machine washing is not recommended. Repeated machine cycles may damage high‑density quilting and risk bead leakage.
The glass beads are non‑toxic. High‑density quilting locks beads securely inside inner compartments, preventing beads from reaching your dog’s fur or resting surface, for both chemical safety and physical containment.
Ordinary pet weighted blankets use loose stitching. When anxious dogs paw, shake and tug the blanket, seams develop gaps for beads to escape. Our high‑density quilting adds more stitches per inch, tightening every seam intersection. It blocks bead migration even under rough daily use by stressed dogs.
